Rethinking Wabanaki History in Maine and New England-POSTPONED
April 10 @ 7:00 pm
We welcome Jennifer McCutchen, Assistant Professor of History at the University of Southern Maine, as she leads us through new ways to think about Wabanaki history in Maine and New England. Though native people have lived on this land for thousands of years, Indigenous history has long been explored through European and American lenses, normalizing the displacement of Native peoples within the larger narrative of United States History. In this illustrated talk, Professor McCutchen shares a wider perspective on the Wabanaki people, one that includes their resilience, agency, and continued presence. Suggested donation for nonmembers-$5. .
