Ron Romano, an Author's Tour of Greenwood Cemetery

Greenwood Cemetery is a hidden gem! Established in the mid-1800s when other garden cemeteries arose, Greenwood offers a wide variety of gravestone materials, forms, symbolism, and epitaphs from the nineteenth century. Cemetery historian Ron Romano will share some of the best Greenwood has to offer on this walk along the winding pathways of this pleasant burial space.

Two identical tours will run (rain or shine) and will focus mostly on Greenwood’s gravestones and landscape -- though a few stories of tragedies that ended the lives of some interred there will also be shared.

Ron Romano is local cemetery historian and author of four gravestone-and cemetery-themed books. He designs and leads cemetery tours throughout southern Maine.

Itinerary

June 26th.

Tours are scheduled for 12 noon and 2:00 p.m. and limited to 20 people each tour. Further details will be provided regarding parking and our meeting point prior to the tour.

Admission: $12.
